Cars in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other marked cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis show the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior representative stated the incident left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
