I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
