Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
